Background

The logs are generated by marvin42, a multi-purpose IRC bot. Its main task originally was to mirror the communication in channels to channels in other networks. The channels were originally run in a small IRC network, and the immense interest in them caused trouble (users couldn't join the channels due to limited network capacities). The mirroring functionality of marvin42 should be a relief for the "human mirrors" who copied the traffic to other places.
After moving to channels to Freenode this functionality was not really needed anymore. Instead the main task of marvin42 now is to provide backup logs which can be found here. The main logs are available here and here.

Miscellaneous info

All timestamps are given in GMT. One file per day is created. The archive started relatively late, and marvin42 had some stability problems, so the archive is known to be incomplete.
